Hello, my name is Simone Wolowiec. I’m an Australian digital artist and illustrator based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

My work is inspired by the Mid-Century era, particularly the fashion, graphic design, and pop culture of the 1950s and 60s. I’m drawn to this time for its sense of optimism, elegance, and possibility. While my view of the era is romanticised, imagining a world that felt simpler and more hopeful continues to inspire my creative process. Vintage travel posters, with their bold graphics and dreamlike storytelling, are a strong influence on my work, which I reinterpret in a modern, graphic inspired style.

My artistic philosophy is Art to simply make you smile. I believe art has the power to lift spirits and shift perspective, and creating work that brings joy to others is what motivates me to keep creating.

My journey into art began after retiring as a professional athlete in 2006. After years away from creative practice, I rediscovered art through study and experimentation in Melbourne, Australia. I started with traditional mediums such as oil painting, acrylics, and ink, before transitioning to digital media.

Today, digital tools allow me to work with precision while embracing bold colour, clean shapes, and playful design. This medium gives me the freedom to evolve creatively and continue exploring new ways to bring optimism, nostalgia, and joy into my work.
