When it comes to design for me nothing beats the sophistication and glamour of the art deco era. It’s an era which greatly influences my art – especially my art deco prints online, in particular my recent “Melbourne Poster Series”.
The brilliant primary hues, the glossy monochromatic schemes, to the elegant pastels and neural colours; the combination of loud, vibrant and even kitschy colours seamlessly and glamorously capture the colourful beauty of Art Deco Melbourne Prints and their design.
I was inspired to paint The Melbourne Poster Series after returning to, and re-connecting with, my home town of Melbourne. We had been living abroad in San Diego, California for nearly a decade and soon after we arrived back I took a day trip into the city to discover modern Melbourne.
